6 Hours south of San Diego on the Baja Peninsula is a remote and rarely visited climbing destination called Cataviña.  It’s no secret that it’s there, but getting to it involves crossing an international border, and driving the broken and dangerous roads of Baja.   We took a Toyota Tacoma on an adventure to sample some of the Cataviña granite and found a place reminiscent of Joshua Tree, but desolate, empty, and with its very own stark beauty.
